Ashwath is responsible for Wellington UniVentures' engineering, medical devices, advanced physics and energy portfolio, and works closely alongside the Robinson Research Institute.
Prior to Wellington UniVentures, Ashwath spent seven years as a strategy consultant with Accenture and Google (with experience across the healthcare, media and energy industries) to help clients grow their businesses and understand how technologies can enable new commercial opportunities.
Ashwath graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Engineering and a PhD in Bioengineering. During this time, Ashwath went through a commercialisation journey for his own research in collaboration with large US medical device firms. Ashwath also holds an MBA (with distinction) from INSEAD, one of the world’s top five graduate business schools.
He moved home to Wellington in early 2018, after living and working in Sydney for many years. The former Wellington College student is happy to be back where he grew up, and is enjoying the outdoors lifestyle once more.
