As New Zealand Programmes Manager, Jo-Anne has oversight of the delivery of the NZELTO Asia and Africa programmes, delivered under contract to New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade.
She is also responsible for managing the logistical and pastoral care components for a range of other Wellington UniVenture programmes that engage the world-leading expertise of Victoria University of Wellington with developing countries to deliver impact.
Jo-Anne, who holds an Honours degree in Geography from the University of Otago, has an extensive background in international development, having worked for New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (and it's predecessors) for 20 years in a number of roles—including Trade Commissioner in both Jakarta and Manila. Following that she worked for Missionz—the Catholic Church's vehicle to financially support mission work in developing countries—and more recently, Weltec, as their ASEAN Market Manager, responsible for developing and maintaining international business opportunities.
She is a past president of the International Women's Association in Suva, Fiji, and is currently a Board member at Caritas Aotearoa New Zealand—the Catholic agency for Justice, Peace and Development.
